Welcome to Hart Area Public Library!

Located in the heart of Oceana County, the Hart Area Public Library (HAPL) proudly serves the City of Hart, Hart Township, and the surrounding Elbridge, Weare, and Crystal Townships. Our wide collection includes books, music, audiobooks, DVDs, and magazines—all without late fees! For residents in our direct service area, we even provide mobile hotspots for checkout.

Please note: All card services for Golden Township residents ended on August 5, 2024. All members of the public are welcome in Michigan public libraries, but card services are only available to residents of municipalities with an active contract or millage. A tentative agreement has been reached that would allow card services for Golden Township residents to resume February 1, 2026 as of January 14, 2026. Please contact the library for more information.
