The Community Foundation of Oceana County, together with a number of community partners, initiated Read early. Read often. (RERO) to better prepare children Of Oceana County for success in learning and in life. Hart Area Public Library works together with RERO to place books into the households of families with young children in Oceana County. Books are distributed through collaborative efforts of food pantries, day care centers, agencies, medical offices, libraries, events and more sites as identified by program partners. RERO stocks all 12 little libraries throughout our County with books on a monthly basis.
Free Books for Young Children! If you have a child between the ages of birth and 4 1/2 and you live in Oceana County, you are eligible to sign up. Once your child is signed up within a few months your child will begin to receive a good quality, age appropriate book, each month until their fifth birthday.
1000 Books Before Kindergarten is an early literacy program that encourages daily reading to young children through milestone tracking. Stop by the HAPL to learn more and sign your child up for the program.
